For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me. - Matthew 25:35 ,36
Our goal is to be available to hurting, broken people that need Jesus in their lives. We politely listen to what these people have to say and are always eager to pray with them and give them a shoulder to lean on. We accept these men and women for who they are and where they are. Our approach is simply being sensitive to the Holy Spirit as we walk the street and love on these people. We've come to find out that patient, unconditional love mends many broken hearts and leads many into God's Kingdom.
In these people, we find friendship, loyalty, extreme intelligence, broken dreams and hurts beyond measure with one need above all; the need for a Savior. The relationships that we have built on the streets are inexpressible. We're continually humbled by the awesome responsibility and privilege as well as the honor God has given us to be His hands and feet on the street to these precious people.
